Here's a little bit about me and our history.

It was the early 2000s, and I had just made my second big chop. I began watching natural hair videos and wig reviews on YouTube in preparation for doing different things to my hair while it grew. Based on the merit of someone’s YouTube review, I ordered a unit. When it arrived at my doorstep, it was nothing like advertised. I bleached the hair to get the desired look, but to my surprise, it completely melted.

After unsuccessfully trying many companies, I felt like I had wasted so much money. I wasn’t ready to give up, so I did more research and tried a few more companies. I quickly realized that these companies, usually China-based, were selling something other than what they were advertising. I gave up my search. I concluded that if I wanted a great product, I would have to sell it myself.

The original plan was to wholesale raw hair through a company I was already a customer of, but at the time, not many people knew of or were educated about raw hair. Virgin Hair was a better business to get into. I began selling virgin hair locally in 2013. It went so well that in 2014, my first online virgin hair business was born.

The company was doing well, but unfortunately, I wasn’t 100 percent happy with the product I was selling. I didn’t realize how many people didn’t know about hair and still don’t. Someone needed to educate these people about raw hair. I began sharing vital information on social media and was amazed by all the feedback I was getting. In August 2015, I was done with virgin hair once and for all. By 2016, Ondibu Hair was established.
